Edward H. Hodierne, 85, of Taberg, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Rome Health after a long illness. He was born in Rome on October 28, 1936, a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Shannon) Hodierne. On February 28, 1959, he was united in marriage to Barbara Brown, a blessed union of 63 years. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957. After being Honorably Discharged, he became a firefighter at Griffiss Air Force Base until his retirement in 1986. Ed was a member of the Lowell United Methodist Church and the Toccolana Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Boston Red Sox. Surviving besides his beloved wife, Barbara, are his two children, Lori Hodierne of Rome and Edward Hodierne of Michigan; three sisters, Betty Jane Allen (George), Suzanne Tagliaferri and Deborah Money (Mark); a sister-in-law, Margaret Hodierne of Florida; two grandchildren Kayla Roux and Brian Roux (Samantha) and great-grandchildren; three special friends, Danny Sherwood, John Florczyk and his family, and Ann Cimo; beloved nieces and nephews and his grand dog, Baylee. He was predeceased by a brother, James Hodierne, a nephew, Donnie Hodierne, and a brother-in-law, Sonny Doty. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
