Obituary of Kenneth M. Kinney

Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kenneth M. Kinney, 92, of Camden, passed away on April 10, 2022, at his home after a brief illness. Born in Westdale, NY, on June 8, 1929, he was a son of the late Albert and Hattie (Joyner) Kinney. Ken spent his childhood years working on the family farm, where many of his fondest memories were formed. He served in the United States Navy and had three children, Gary, Kenneth and Patricia, from his first marriage. He later married Anne Kinney, and became a dad to three more children, Ed, Karen and Lori. Ken was a hard-working man. He was self-employed with a pulp wood business and a milk route. He picked up milk cans from local farmers, delivering them to Rosasco’s Creamery. Eventually, Ken became a bus driver for the Camden School District. He transported children for several generations. He cared deeply for the children entrusted to his care and he knew how precious his cargo was. Ken enjoyed coin collecting, music and classic western movies. He was the king of recording television shows and movies. He had an extensive collection of tapes and videos. He would generously give or loan his treasures to his family and friends. Often the endings were missing, to the exasperation and amusement of his family. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, a long-time member of Rod and Gun Club and a past member of the Camden Fire Department. Ken is survived by his wife, Anne; his children; a brother, Otis; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Melvin; and grandchildren, Corri, Michael Tucker and Michael Williams. Ken’s family would like to thank his caregivers: Hospice and Palliative Care, Amy Wyant and Jasmine Skinner. The emotional work, dedication, love and compassion shown can only be described as a gift from God. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. You may light a candle, send a message of sympathy, and read the obituary at www.nunnandharper.com.
