Alison A. Szajer, 61, of Seville Dr., Rome, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family under the care of hospice.
She was born on September 15, 1960, in Rome, the daughter of Edwin and Catherine Rizzuto Fritz. She was a 1978 graduate of Rome Free Academy.
On February 24, 1996, Alison was united in marriage to Anthony Szajer in Rome.
Alison was employed as the department manager at Lowe’s for the past 17 years.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Alison loved the nice weather and spending time outdoors; whether it was sitting by the pool or riding the motorcycle. This is when she was truly the happiest. She enjoyed entertaining and making sure people were enjoying themselves.
Surviving besides her loving husband, Anthony, and her mother, Catherine Fritz, of Rome; are three sons, John Gifford, Anthony E. Szajer, and Timothy J. (Hannah) Szajer, all of Rome; a grandson who was the light of her life, Brayden M. Szajer; a brother, Ed Fritz, of Mt. Vernon; her in-laws, Ervin and Erika Szajer, of Buffalo; a sister-in-law, Gizella Szajer, of Toronto; dear friends, Joel and Laurie Guy, of Rome; and many nieces and nephews. Alison was predeceased by her father, Edwin; and her maternal grandmother, Pearl Rizzuto.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 6 PM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. Family and friends are invited and may call on Sunday prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home, 418 N. Geroge St., Rome.
