Melvin H. Wolfe, Jr., 61, of Blossvale, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. Born in Rome on July 30, 1960, he was a son of the late Melvin and Joan (Brower) Wolfe, Sr. He was a graduate of Adirondack High School and on April 28, 1990, he was united in marriage to Colleen Hilts. Melvin worked for EMI in Rome for over 19 years before retiring from International Wire. He was a member of the Taberg Fire Department for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and loved to fish and spend time at his camp on Black Lake. Surviving besides his loving wife, Colleen, is a daughter, Rashell Skinner (Mason); two sons, Donald Van Slyke (Jeanette) and Melvin III (Jessica); a sister, Grace Rude (Arthur); two brothers, Daniel (Ginny) and James Wolfe; five cherished grandchildren, Felipe, Dahlilah, Hunter, Easton and Autumn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Dale and Colleen Turner. He was predeceased by a daughter, Courtney Van Slyke-Dam; and a sister, Deborah Platt. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3rd, at 6:30 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service from 4-6:30 p.m.
