Obituary of Floyd F. Bush

Floyd F. Bush, Sr., 72, of Rome, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Rome on January 26, 1950, a son of the late Robert and Mary (Catalano) Bush. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Mohawk Valley Community College. On August 3, 1974, he was united in marriage to Sharon D’Anthony. In 1969, Floyd enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged in 1973. Floyd worked for Rome Cable Corp. for over 30 years until it’s closing. Afterward, he was a contractor for several area construction companies. Floyd loved to hunt and he was happiest spending time with family and friends at his hunting camp. Surviving besides his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon, is a daughter, Danielle Bush and her fiancé, Justen Hoffmeister; a son, Floyd Bush, Jr. and his fiancé, Jessica Weil; special nephew, Norm Bellamy; three sisters, Pat Shakespeare (Archie), Roberta Sanford (Roger) and Joanne Howlett (Harry); seven cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Zoe, Riley, Justen Jr., Mason, Jaxsen and Ariana; special friends, Paul Bingham, Dick Townsend and Gail Gorczyca; and several nieces and nephews. Floyd’s family would like to thank Dr. Martinez and the nurses and staff at the Oneida Health Cancer Care of Roswell Park Care Network for their wonderful care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Friday, February 11th from 4-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Floyd’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
