Obituary of Sandra L. Cosimeno

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sandra Larine Cosimeno, 78, of Town of Western, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, January 31, 2022 with her loving and proud family at her side. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on November 26, 1943 to the late Harold and Mary Wilson. Sandra was a graduate of Camden High School, Class of 1960. She was united in marriage to her best friend and love of her life, Nicholas L. Cosimeno on December 12, 1964, a beautiful union of over 60 years. Sandra then settled into the role she would keep and dedicate herself to, a loving wife and mother. To say that she was devoted to her family would be an understatement. Sandy was incredibly proud of her family and was always there for everything for them, big or small. She was an incredible matriarch for her family that gave so much love and life lessons to them all. She taught them to explore the world around them, to not just walk a straight path but to stop and appreciate the little things along the way. Being with her was always an adventure. There was a classic beauty about Sandra, combined with a rare elegance, wittiness and fun sense of humor. She could always make you laugh and everything she did, she did with pride. She had the most incredible imagination and was always finding unique ways to entertain the children in her life. She especially enjoyed time she spent being a Girl Scout Leader. Sandy had a very strong sense of faith. She was the one that would be at church every Sunday to pray for her family, put the rosary beads out to ward off the rain if we needed sunshine for a special event, and to remind us all that everything happens for a reason. She especially enjoyed trips to the casino, bird watching, shopping, traveling, berry picking, baking, and cooking. She was an incredible cook, known for her Sunday sauce and "world famous" cookies. She is survived by her beloved children Sandra (Thomas) Passante, Nicholeen (Richard) Shoemaker, James (Christine) Cosimeno, Tracy (Robert) Zalewski, Jamie (Scott) Kiser; grandchildren CaSandra (Stephen) Packard, John Nicholas (Kara) Eaton, Nicholas Camadine, Alyse (Joseph) DiGeorge, Kayla (Josh) Duffy, Allen (Samantha) Carlock, Carissa (James) Meininger, Alexis (Dan) Kemp, Jenna Sweet, Justin and Shawn Osterdoudt, Courtney and Tyler Kiser, Nicholas Zalewski, David and Dominick Cosimeno, as well as fourteen great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Diane Cosimeno, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas, her parents, siblings, special Aunt Rose and Uncle Hank Sbaraglia, brother-in-law Louis J. Cosimeno, and grandson, Allen Joseph Carlock. She loved every person in her large family fiercely and the one true love of her life was her husband, who she is now united with once again in Heaven. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her granddaughter Carissa Meininger, RN and her husband James for their expert care in her final moments. A special thank you also to Trudy Cole and Janis Thrasher, her caregivers and friends, and her special friend, Tammy Packard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be private.
