Obituary of Latriece Darcell Allen

Latriece Allen died peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was the daughter of Henry and Rita Allen. She was born on October 15, 1980 and lived most of her life in Utica, NY. Since 2015 she resided in Rome, NY. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in April 1996. Latriece was a 1998 graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School. Latriece greeted those she met with a bright smile. She would call, email, text, or send cards to as many as she could. Latriece loved family and performed many acts of kindness to help others. Her boundless enthusiasm for the activities she engaged in throughout her life are just a few of the many aspects of her that will be dearly missed. Latriece was predeceased by her father Henry Allen. She is survived by her mother Rita Allen; her eldest sister Naomi Arndt (Ed Arndt); brother Enoch Allen; her beloved nephew Nathan Arndt; several paternal aunts and uncles including Alzenia Dixon, Jerome and Mary Allen, Georgia Lee Allen, Janice Lee Allen and Flossie Canty; several maternal aunts and uncles including Rosalind Smith, Lythel Mims, Michael Mims, (Leite) Mims, Erica Mims, Malcolm Mims, Henrietta Cubbage, Henry Mims, Lemuel (Joan) Mims, Latha Mims, Phillip (Michelle) Mims and Virgil Mims; and several generations of cousins and many other family members. A Zoom Memorial talk will be given on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 7:00 pm by Edward Entwistle. Latriece will be missed by those fortunate enough to have gotten to know and love her.
