Obituary of Maria Vazquez

Maria Nazaria Vazquez, 93, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, with her loving family by her side. Born on July 28, 1928, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Juan Vazquez and Emiliana Narvaez. Maria was a great seamstress in her early years once moving to Brooklyn. She took great pride in the many places she worked throughout the years. She was an avid BINGO player but most of all she enjoyed spending time and hosting dinners with her family and never lost her love for music. She will be dearly missed. Maria is survived by her five children, Aida Rivera, Margarita Rivera, Alba Garcia, Cesar Delgado (Stacy) and Isabel Torres (Jose), whom was her longtime caregiver; nineteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Leonor Vazquez; and a brother, Nicolas Vazquez. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 30th at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, from 4-6:00 p.m.
