Obituary of Carol J. Dolan

Carol J. Dolan, 81, of Lee, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Bethany Gardens. Born in Frankfort, NY, on February 4, 1940, a daughter of the late Budlong and Bertha (Beauchamp) Dodge. She was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and St. Luke’s School of Nursing. On September 23, 1961, she was united in marriage to Francis “Red” Dolan. He passed away July 26, 2013. Carol was a Registered Nurse and worked at Rose Hospital. Carol was a parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Lee Center and was a member of the Lee Seniors, Copper City Community Connection, St. Joseph’s Women’s Club and the RN Association of Rome. Carol loved playing cards and going on bus trips with the Lee Seniors and Copper City Community Connection. She is survived by four daughters, Colleen Henckel (Chris) of Gig Harbor, WA, Karen Van Slyke of Rome, Maureen Pettis (Mark) Rochester and Kelley Mietlicki (Frank) of Rochester; son-in-law, Mark Van Slyke of Rome; eight grandchildren, Katie MacTavis (Ian), Stephanie Solensky (Jeff), Leighann Pettis, Mackenzi Dishman (Justin), Elizabeth and Matthew Henckel, and Amanda and Meghan Mietlicki; two great-grandchildren, Jackson MacTavish and Sydney Solensky; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Blessing; and two brothers, Richard and Robert Dodge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Lee Center. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
