Obituary of Jacqueline Carroll

Jacqueline “Jackie” Rose Carroll (formerly Guglielmo), 81, of Rome, New York, passed December 12, 2021 in Minot, North Dakota, of Alzheimer’s disease with her family by her side. Jackie is survived by her loving children Sue and Chuck Russell, of Chantilly, Virginia, and Phil and Mandi Carroll, of Minot, North Dakota. She is also survived by her well-loved grandchildren Addy, Sami, Kate, Logan, Henry, and Chad, as well a sister Patricia, sisters-in-law Deb, Jill, Camille, Ruth, Ange, brothers-in-law Lennie and Dutch, several nieces, and nephews. Jackie married Phil Carroll Jr. on November 19, 1960, and was a devoted wife for 53 years until his passing in 2014. Jackie retired from government civil service in 1994 after 23 years of exemplary work, winning the hearts of all her subordinates and coworkers. Jackie was an infinitely positive light in everyone’s life. She insisted on seeing the best in everyone and paid compliments effusively and sincerely. Jackie was generous, almost to a fault, with love, loyalty, and all her other resources. She was interested in anything her loved ones were interested in and had quick humor. Jackie was a talented musician and an avid reader. The only thing she loved more than history and travel was her family. The world was a better place with her in it. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 28th at 7:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 28th, prior to the service from 5-7:00 p.m. Please donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in lieu of gifts or flowers.
