William W. DePan, Sr., 67, of Lee Center, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Faxton-St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare in Utica. He was born in Rome on January 17, 1954, a son of the late William and Lois (Shephard) DePan. He was married to the former Johanne Brower. Bill worked for many years at Spargo Wire and International Wire before retiring. He was a member of the Pointer’s Horseshoe League and played softball for Stan’s Seafood for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting or boating. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife of 27 years, Johanne, are nine children, William Szablewski (Karen), Thomas Szablewski (Danielle), Tonya Calkins (Heath), William DePan, Jr. (Samantha), Crystal Marshall (Joseph), Amanda Come, Abryonnah DePan, Paxtyn DePan and Michelle Bristol; two sisters, Betty Dougher (Bill) and Stella DePan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four siblings, Richard Roberts, Doris Szablewski, Bonnie Tennant and Edward DePan. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 7th at 11:30 a.m. at Lee State Road Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Monday, December 6th from 4-6:00 p.m.
