Obituary of Shane C. Smith

Shane C. Smith, 38, of Rome, passed away on Saturday October 23, 2021, at Rome Health. He was born on Saturday September 17, 1983 in Rome, the son of Edward and Judy (Berg) Smith. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and on September 4, 2021, he was united in marriage to Amanda Deeley. Shane loved to play the drums and sing. He was especially good at making people laugh and he had the biggest heart. He cherished all of his family and friends. Surviving besides his wife, Amanda, is his mother, Judy Smith; three children, Hanna Proper, David Proper, Jr. and Colby Smith; a sister, Holly Suits (John); a brother, Shawn Smith; in-law, Bill and Lisa Patterson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Smith.
