Obituary of Patrick F. Loreto

Please share a memory of Patrick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patrick F. Loreto, 68, of Rome, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. This loss was completely unexpected, leaving his family and friends shocked and deeply saddened. Patrick will be truly missed in so many ways. He was born in Rome on July 20, 1953, a son of the late Francis and Rosemary (Domenico) Loreto. On July 26, 1985, he was united in marriage to Roberta “Bert” Cervantes in Torrance, California. Many of Patrick’s fondest memories were during his time when he resided near the Southern California coast. He graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1971 and attended Herkimer College. He began his career at Toyota Motor Corporation in Torrance California. For many years, Patrick was involved in the ownership, operation, or management of multiple businesses and venues. In 1986 Patrick and his father owned and operated Cost Plus Liquors, Rome NY. One of the highlights in his business ventures was being the owner and operator of 701 East Dominick Street, Patrick’s Cantina, Rome NY from 1986-1993. He continued his hospitality to shine on The Turning Stone Casino, Food & Beverage Department from 1995-2001. The next decade brought his expertise to Rochester NY. Patrick was Owner & Operator of Imperial Manor Apartment Complex in Greece, NY. This comprised Encore Properties Management Company LLC, which encompassed over 1,000 residential and commercial units in Rochester, NY. In the most recent years Patrick worked with great appreciation in the offices of M&L Worldwide Logistics Trucking Services. Surviving besides his loving wife of 36 years, Bert, are his two loving and devoted daughters and a son-in-law, Samantha and Canio Sabia and Gabrielle Loreto; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Nancy Loreto; two cherished grandchildren, Quentin Patrick and Salem Rose; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Patrick was a loving, generous, and dedicated father to his two daughters and seeing his two grandchildren smile was the light of his life. Patrick enjoyed the outdoors, spending much time in his backyard with his family. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends, especially his trips to Florida, Spain, and The Dominican Republic. I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one, I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo of happy times and bright sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun. Only happy memories when life is done. A Mass honoring Patrick’s Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 14th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome.
