Obituary of Michael B. McBride

Michael B. McBride passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021 after a long illness. He was born on December 8, 1961 in Kittery, Maine, the son of Neil and Joan McBride. Michael graduated from Holland Patent High School in 1980 and was active in the Navy from 1984-1988, spending most of that time stationed in Newport, Rhode Island. Michael was employed by the Walmart Distribution Center for 22 years. He also had a welding business for many years. Michael loved snowmobiling, hunting, camping and NASCAR. He was always known to be a kind, gentle person who didn’t have a mean bone in his body but loved having fun. He will be greatly missed. Michael is survived by his children Brandin McBride of Rome, NY, Clifford McBride of Newport, North Carolina and Haley McBride of Floyd, NY; his father Neil McBride of Floyd, NY, his sister Julie McBride of Holland Patent; nieces Lindsey Johnston (Jordan Johnston), Taylor Doolittle and Madeline Mason and nephew Jordan Doolittle (Liz Doolittle); 5 great nephews and a great niece whom he loved being with and reading stories to. He also leaves many cherished family members in Pennsylvania whom he loved dearly. Pennsylvania always held a special place in his heart. Michael was predeceased by his mother Joan McBride on September 21, 2015 and his sister Mary Jo McBride on October 29, 2017. A graveside service will be held on October 23, 2021 at the Townsend Cemetery in Stittville, NY at 1:00 pm and family and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours.
