Obituary of Robert L. O'Hara

Robert L. "Pudge" O'Hara, Jr., 88, of Blossvale, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Oneida Health. Born in Long Island, NY, on October 14, 1932, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Viola (Landers) O'Hara, Sr. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1952 and served his country in the Korea War until being honorably discharged in 1955. On June 22, 1957, he was united in marriage to Joan Fuller. She passed away in 1999. Pudge worked for the Oneida County Highway Department and Camden Wire before owning his own furniture store, Doc O'Hara's Furniture, in Vienna. He was a member of the Camden VFW, Arthur S. Moran Post and Meeker-O'Rourke American Legion. Pudge is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ron Cole; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Marianne O'Hara; three sisters, Shirley Francisco, Carol Balch (Lee) and Jackie Skinner; one brother, Thomas O'Hara (Aprille); eleven grandchildren, Tonya Smith (Justin), Ryan Cole (Kara), Craig Cole (John Previtte), Tiffany Turco (Justin), Bronson O'Hara (Meghan), Brock O'Hara (Amy), Remington O'Hara, Rilee O'Hara, Stacey Furney, Kelli Massingale (Lee) and Pattylynn Rogers; sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Patrick O'Hara; three sisters, Dorothy Foster, Diane Baster and Katie Kroll; a brother, Donald O'Hara; and a grandson, Travis O'Hara. A Celebration of Pudge's Life will be held on Thursday, October 14th at 3:00 p.m. at the Arthur S. Moran Post, 2422 Moran Post Rd., Camden, NY, 13316. There are no calling hours. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Florence.
