On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, Michael E. Rogers, Sr., 63, went to be with the Lord after a brief illness with his family by his side. Born in Canastota on March 1, 1958, he was a son of the late Earl and Marguerite (Smith) Rogers, Jr. He lived in Rome his whole life and attended Rome Free Academy. On March 10, 1979, he was united in marriage to his first love Deborah Perrigo, with whom he shared ten years of marriage and remained life long friends. In 1997 he met and fell in love with Judith Robinson, with whom he shared many years with until her passing in 2017. He was predeceased by his son, Scott. He is survived by his children, Michelle (Steven), Shannon, Melissa (Bryan), Michael Jr., Henry (Tabitha), Krystal, Nikita (Nick), Ashley, Kayla (Tamika), Lacy and David (Olivia); twenty-six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Butch, Denny, Steve (Brianna), and Earl (Amy); sisters, Laura and Pam (Deon); and special family friends Angel and Jessi. His family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Rome Health ICU, especially his nurses Nicole and Kaitlyn and Dr. Roby, for their wonderful care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., on Monday, September 13th from 4-6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Carmichael Hill Cemetery.
