Obituary of Claudia M. Cimino

Claudia M. Cimino, 64, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare in Utica. She was born in Rome on August 12, 1957, the daughter of the late Alex and Olympia (Ciotti) Nashton. On August 20, 2000, she was united in marriage to Joseph Cimino. Claudia worked at Turning Stone Resort and Casino and Vernon Downs as a supervisor for many years. She loved to bake Italian cookies and spend time with her grandchildren. Surviving besides her loving husband, Joe, are four children, Alexis Clements (Jason), Matthew Glover, Tricia Guenette (Paul) and James Glover; four brothers, Cataldo Nashton (Noreen), Jeffrey Nashton, Mark Nashton (Michelle) and Myles Nashton (Dyann); nine cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Wyatt and Piper Clements, Emily, Hayley and Zachary Voelker, and Luke, Noah and Jonah Guenette; sister-in-law, Carol Sargent; brother-in-law, James Cimino (Susan); and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Alexander Nashton. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 24th, at 7:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday from 5-7:00 p.m.
