Obituary: Wanda Cable, 95, of 800 W. Chestnut St., Rome, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Bethany Gardens with her loving family at her side. She was born on November 20, 1912, in Mystic, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Sophia Koziol Marshall. She attended Stokes school. On October 20, 1934, Wanda was united in marriage with Lewis C. Cable in Homestead, PA. Mr. Cable passed away on November 3, 1991.
Wanda was employed for over twenty-five years by the Rome Developmental Center, retiring in 1975.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-laws, Beverly and Mario Carrado, Jr., and Deanne and Richard Martin; two sisters, Victoria Matt, and Minnie Chomin, all of Rome; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Wanda was predeceased by a brother, John Marshall, and five sisters, May Bielek, Blanche Kauzlarich, Katherine Torio, Helen Bachman, and Anna Mortis.

Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 9:45 AM and a Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 AM where the Rev. Philip A. Hearn will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Contributions may be made in Wanda's memory to the Bethany Gardens Activities Fund, 800 W. Chestnut St., Rome, New York 13440.
