Obituary of Evan H. Plantz

Evan H. Plantz, 56, of Rome, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021, at Rome Health. Born in Auburn, CA, on January 12, 1965, he was a son of Major Raymond Armstrong and Sophie Ann (Ball) Plantz. He was a 1983 graduate of Rome Free Academy and he earned an Associates Degree from Mohawk Valley Community College in 1985. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Vaughn on January 30, 2021. Evan was great in the trades, having built his own home and building many others with his great friend Ernie Marcello. He started his career with Newchannels Cable TV then Time Warner Cable and finally Spectrum Cable, working for 35 years in the technical group. Evan loved dogs and the NY Jets. He was very handy and a hard worker. He loved his two convertibles. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Keating-Plantz; two stepsons, Nate and Brett Keating; his mother, Sophie Plantz; a sister, Barbara Cole; and two nieces, Whitney Evans and Brooke Follet. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond. His family would like to thank special friends, Mike Amodio, Andy Smith, Doug Day and James and Laurie Moore. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 11th, at 2:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
