A son of Ollie William Teller and Bertha Catherine Parsons. After his father’s passing in 1942 his mother married Burton E Jones. He was a wonderful stepfather who treated and loved him like his own son. David graduated Holland Patent Central school district in 1957. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Darlene J. Pelton on May 30th, 1959. Together they had 4 children: Lori Martin (Mike), Cindy Rutledge (Ron), Travis Teller (Sandra), Joelle Myers (Rodney Yager). 10 Grandchildren: Nicholas Martin (Christina), Trever Martin (Amanda), Alicia Martin (Justin), Nathan Martin, Brandon Rutledge (Kayla), Kara Chmielewski (Rob), Zachary Swalgin-Teller (Katie), Derek Kuehnhold (Alex), Samantha Myers, Joseph Myers and 17.5 great grandchildren. David owned several businesses (Hilltop Diner and Ski-Daddler & Alouette Snowmobile Shop). In 1969, he went to work for the state as a plumber and a steam fitter. He retired in 1994 and enjoyed 26 years of retirement. His favorite past time was spending time with his son helping out at Travis’s Auto where he was lovingly known as “The Chief.” He could often be found cruising around in his yellow 1951 Chevy. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Elks club, an honorary member of the Westernville Volunteer Fire Department, and 45-year member of the Westernville American Legion. He was a loved member of the community and the pillar of his family, who will miss him greatly. A special thank you to all who have shown his family kindness and support during this difficult time.
