Obituary of Mark F. Jackson

Mark F. Jackson, 71, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Born in Ilion on March 14, 1950, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Mildred (Smith) Jackson. On September 9, 1972, he married Glenda (Van Ornum). Surviving besides his wife, are his daughters Heather (Michael) of Westminster, CO and Kelly of Malta, NY; granddaughter Adalyn his "little honey"; brother Doug (Phyllis) of Oneida, NY; sister-in-law Anne of Moline, IL; several sisters and brothers-in-law as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Stuart and sister Lorraine. In following with his wishes, there are no calling hours or services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Mark left us with these thoughts: "I was just a man, not a beast and not a saint. My passing is but a moment in a great span of time. So take a moment and tell me goodbye, but don't linger in those goodbyes. Instead, have a drink or a bite to eat, try to remember something about me you liked, forgive something about me you didn't; and then move on with your life. Make it something you enjoy." Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
