Obituary of Barbara A. Muldoon

Barbara A. Muldoon, 81, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Rome Health. She was born in Rome on December 18, 1939, a daughter of the late George and Kathryn (Boiko) Fadel. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Mohawk Valley Community College. On May 10, 1958, she was united marriage to Charles Muldoon, Jr. He passed away June 20, 2006. Barbara was a long-time employee of the Rome City School District at Strough Junior High School. She loved being involved in the lives of children, it was truly her passion. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxilliary at both the Rome VFW and Henry P. Smith Post American Legion. Barbara is survived by four sisters, Christine Thompson, Carol Gwin, Sharon Campbell and Bettie Jane Setford; seven grandchildren, Mike Seeber (Christy), Joshua Lopez, Ernesto Lopez, and Carlos, Rogelio, Manuele and Roberto Muldoon; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two children, Colleen Seeber and Charles Muldoon, III; and threebrothers and one sister. A memorial prayer service will be held on Thursday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 1807 Bedford St., Rome. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday, March 31st, from 4-6:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home at one time, everyone must wear a face covering upon entering and proper social distancing protocols must be adhered to once inside.
