Obituary of Eric P. Wilkes

Eric Patrick Wilkes, 35, of Taberg, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 9, 1985, a son of Robyn and Richard McGilton. Eric had many talents. He worked construction like his father and had a passion for woodworking and restoring cars. He was family oriented and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was the most caring and coolest uncle anyone could ever have. He left his nieces and nephews with many memories of outdoor adventures that they will forever cherish. Eric touched many lives with his kindness and generosity, never hesitating to help someone. Eric is survived by his parents, Robyn and Richard; three sisters, Keri Bingham, Kelly Wilkes and Shelly Wilkes; a brother, Edward Wilkes; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Crippen. Eric will be missed dearly and he fought his best fight until the very end. His family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care for its wonderful care and compassion and Melissa Smith for her tender care. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Thursday from 4-6:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home at one time, everyone must wear a face covering upon entering and proper social distancing protocols must be adhered to once inside.
