Glenda M. Payne, 87,of Blossvale, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 1, 2021. She was born in Bryan, TX, on December 26, 1933, a daughter of the late Arnold and Emma (Tobias) Murray. On June 13, 1958, she was united in marriage to Patrick Payne, until his passing in 2000. Glenda was an art teacher in the Camden Middle School for many years. She was an active member of the Taberg United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Taberg Democrat Club and The Garden Club. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cate and Bradford Church; two sons, Robert Payne and Patrick Payne Jr. (Marci Fuller); a sister, Janis Gillespie; a daughter-in-law, MaryKay Payne; five grandchildren, Andrew Payne (Crystal), Kathleen Payne, Mark DeFuria (Cheyann), James DeFuria and Ford Church; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Olivia; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael Payne, and a brother, David Murray. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, on Friday, February 5th from 4-6:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Martinsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Glenda’s memory to the Taberg United Methodist Church, 5001 Church St., Taberg NY 13471. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home at one time, everyone must wear a face covering upon entering and proper social distancing protocols must be adhered to once inside.
