He was born January 26, 1921, in Utica, the son of Alfred Swald. He was a graduate of Utica High School. He worked for Coleman Brothers in Rome for several years. Ed served in the US Air Corps during World War II. He was also a member of St. Peter's Church. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Louis Eddy; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Christine Swald, Syracuse; a step-daughter, Debbie Eastmen, Canastota; a special friend, Janet Denio, Connecticut; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by three wives, Marian, Gladys and Irma. A Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 1:30pm at St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
