Obituary:Cassie Ann Bowers, 78, of North Bay, died July 14, 2007 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1929, in Rome, the daughter of Samuel and Ernestine Michaelson Evans. She was educated in Westmoreland and Rome schools. On July 13, 1946, she married Paul R. Bowers, Sr. in St. Mary's Church in Rome. He died April 4, 1995.
Cassie was a member of St. John's and St. Mary's Church in North Bay. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and she was avid BINGO winner.
Mrs. Bowers is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammie and Alan Crumb, Westmoreland, and Cindy and Jeff Scott, North Bay; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dr. Roger and Denise Bowers, New Hartford, Harold and Mary Bowers, Centerville, TN, and John Bowers, Braselton, GA; a sister, Ellen Murray, North Bay; a brother, William Evans, Corpus Christi, TX; thirteen grandchildren, Leslie, Rebecca, Matthew, Angel, Cassie, Holly, Aaron, Jonathan, Andi, Jason, Tyler, Andrew, and Timmy; eleven great-grandchildren, Loriel, Christian, Hunter, Nathaniel, Victoria, Elijah, Yasmine, Kennedi, Haley, Aubrey, and Jillian; special niece and nephews, Missy Salerno, and Mark, and Patrick Murray; and dear friends, Randy and Orysia Beers. She was predeceased by a son, Paul R. Bowers, Jr.; a sister, Jane Prosser; and six brothers, George, John, Bob, Sam, Sam, and Fred.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, and 1pm at St. Mary's Church in Verona Beach. Interment will take place in Lee State Road Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 10am-12pm.
