She was born on June 28, 1929, in Baxter, WV, the daughter of John and Bertha Darway Suplita. She attended West Virginia schools. On August 9, 1957, she was united in marriage with Chester J. Kroviak in Transfiguration Church in Rome. He died on June 21, 2006. Mary Ellen was employed by Eastern Star in Oriskany for twenty years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of Transfiguration Church in Rome. Surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Debra Kroviak, Ava; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Nelson Castor, Harrisburg, PA; three grandchildren, Heidi, David, and Jodi; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Tyler; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jane, in 1992, and an infant daughter, Mary, in 1965. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc, 418 N. George St., Rome, on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at 9:30 AM and a Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Transfiguration Church. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Services: Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc, 418 N.
