(Bing) Leppert, 90, of Rome, passed away February 17, 2008, in Bethany Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born February 8, 1918, in Rome the son of August and Lillian Kroll Leppert. He was educated in Rome schools. On August 3, 1940, he married Gertrude Kauzlarich in St. Mary's Church. Bing worked for thirty-eight years at Revere Copper Products, Inc., retiring in 1978. He was a member and head usher at St. Mary's Church. He was also a member and former chief of the Rome Volunteer Fire Department Hose Company #1 and belonged to the Little Roaring Brook Gun Club. Surviving besides his wife, is a daughter, Debra Christman, Rome; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald and Linda, Yucaipa, CA, Richard, Holland Patent, and Jerry and Peggy, Rome; a sister, Dorothy Southern, Rome; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, William, and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Graves Leppert. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:30pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bing's memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
