Gralewicz, 86, of Oneida, formerly of Holland Patent and Westmoreland, died on Sunday, February 10, 2008, in the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility. She was born on October 5, 1921, in Remsen, the daughter of Nicholas and Anna Gillack. Sonia was a graduate of Remsen High School. On November 20, 145, she was united in marriage with Leon Gralewicz in Kingsville, TX. He died on February 11, 1987. Sonia and her husband owned and operated a diary farm in Holland Patent, retiring in 1977. She was member of Westmoreland Senior Citizen Center and the Lowell V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary. Sonia's family would like to send a warm thank you to the staff at the Extended Care Facility of Oneida Healthcare. You have become part of her extended family. Surviving is a daughter and a son-in-law, Connie and Jim Black, Sherrill; two granddaughters, Addie and her husband, Scott Cannistra, Oneida, and Jami and her husband, Arthur Clark, Baldwinsville; three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Kaiden, and Ryan; and a special nephew, Stephen Kowalski. Sonia was predeceased by a special friend, Bernie Richardson. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 6:00 PM. Interment will take place in French Rd. Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Sonia's memory to the American Diabetes Association, 356 North Midler Ave., Syracuse, NY 13206, and French Road Church Memorial Fund in Remsen.
