Lawrence P. Kalk, Jr., 86, of Taberg, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly, March 30, 2005, while vacationing in Kissimmee, Fla.
A lifetime resident of Taberg, he was born to Lawrence P. Sr. and Irene Homan Kalk on January 15, 1919. On April 10, 1944 he was united in marriage to the former Eileen Shannon of Rome, a blessed union of more than 61 years.
Lawrence was a local farmer for more than 30 years. He eventually changed careers and worked for the C.I. Case tractor and implement company for 20 years as a District Service Manager for the states of New York, New Jersey, New England and Pennsylvania. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Rome Council, a lifetime member of the Taberg Volunteer Fire Department; he was also a member of the Rome Elks Club and St. Patrick's Church and its Holy Name Society.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence E. and Denise Kalk, Rome, and cherished grandchildren, Kriste Ross, Clifton Park, N.Y. and Lawrence Matthew Kalk, Rome and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, George and Carl and a sister, Anna Cieslewicz.
Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., Rt. 13, Camden Wednesday 9:45A.M. and St. Patrick's Church 10:30A.M. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral homeTuesday 4:00P.M. to 8:00P.M.
Contributions maybe made in his memory to St. Patrick's Church or the Taberg Volunteer Fire Department.
Services: Funeral services Wednesday at the funeral home at 9:45am and St. Patrick's Church in Taberg at 10:30am.
