Widrig, 71, of Blossvale, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born March 25, 1936, in Rome, the son Leroy J. and Frances Hawkins Widrig. He was educated in Vernon-Verona-Sherrill schools. In November of 1956, he married Lois Jones. She died October 10, 1978. On January 1, 1980, he married Carrol Prosser in Taberg. Paul retired in 1997 from Camden Wire after over thirty years of service. He previously worked at Skenandoah Rayon. Mr. Widrig loved to spend time with his beloved dogs and collecting Hess trucks. Surviving besides his wife, are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Darlena, Taberg, Craig, Rome, and Brian and Judy, Blossvale; three step-children, Tracy Cassler, Rome, Thomas (Amy) Van Dresar, Rome, and Timothy Van Dresar, Blossvale; a sister, Geraldine Elaine Harrington, Verona; fourteen grandchildren and four special great-grandsons. He was predeceased by a sister, Gloria LaLonde, and a brother, Roy. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
