Obituary:Anna Buczkoski, 84, of Rome, formerly of Floyd, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2008, at Stonehedge Nursing Home, after a long illness, with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 21, 1923, in Ludlow, PA, the daughter of John and Anastazia Lewcio Matwijeczko. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On May 6, 1944, she was united in marriage to Adolph Buczkoski in Rome. He died on September 17, 1989.
She was employed by the Boston Store for several years. Anna had previously worked for the Utica Observer Dispatch, and General Cable. She was a former member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church, a member of the Floyd Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Ava Dorfman Senior Center, South Rome Senior Citizen Center, and the former Floyd Home Bureau.
Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Marion and Richard Murray, Bristol, CT, Patricia and Fred Brown, Edwardsburg, MI, Valerie and Robert Spindler, Ava, NY, and Lorraine and Lorne Yanosik, Floyd; five grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson, Robert Hargrove, Donna Longo, Jason and his wife, Shana, Spindler, and Wendy Spindler; six great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Haley, Nick, Bryce, Ty, and Jade; and one great great-granddaughter, Addison; and one brother and sister-in-law, George and Irene Mativesko, Schenectady. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Boriello; four brothers, Michael, Andrew, Stephen, and John; and a son-in-law, Stephen Hargrove

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 11:00A.M., at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Contributions may be made in Anna's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter, 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
Services: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 11:00A.M., at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery.
