Mucha, of Rome, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, in Rome Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the daughter of Jacob and Mary Grech Mucha. She graduated from West Leyden High School. She was employed as the office manager and assistant of Dr. Louis Verdgeline in his dental practice for 51 years. Agnes grew up on her father's dairy farm in Ava, where she learned to love animals and growing things. She was a passionate gardener and worked in her garden up to her death. Her favorite activities were tennis, figure skating, and gardening. She was a member of the Botanical Society of Brooklyn and the Syracuse Figure Skating Club. She was a member of Transfiguration Church. Her life was spent selflessly serving others including Dr. Verdgeline's patients, her mother, her brothers, and other family members and many friends. She was a good friend to all and will be dearly missed. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including a niece, Margaret and Jason Spoon, Oswego; two nephews, John and Nina Mucha, Queensbury, and Joseph and Claire Mucha; several great nieces and nephews; a cousin, Dorothy Sampson; dear friends, Paul and Christine Verdgeline; and special friends, Helen Frankow and Burt Taskey. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary; and five brothers, William, Jacob, John, Joseph, and Andrew Mucha. Services: Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Monday, October 1, 2007, at 9:30 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial at the Transfiguration Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made in Agnes's memory to the Transfiguration Church Memorial Fund.
