Name: Evelyn E. Ulrich Date of Death: Monday, July 30, 2007 Residence: Rome, New York Age: 91 Obituary: Evelyn E. Ulrich, 91, formerly of Floyd , died Monday, July 30, 2007 in Bethany Garden after a long illness. She was born February 3, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the daughter of Samuel and Lizzie Price Matthews. Mrs. Ulrich was educated in Philadelphia and attended Strayers Business College, Philadelphia. In 1945 she married George Ulrich in Elkton, Maryland. He died in 1976. Mrs. Ulrich was employed at the Reading Pennsylvania Courthouse for nineteen years retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Floyd United Methodist Church, the Floyd Up and Lively Senior Citzens and the Marcy Senior Citzens. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Harold Shunk, Floyd; seven grandchildren , fourteen great-grandchildren and one step-daughter, Mrs. June Troutman, Reading, Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters and one step-daughter, Vivian Kantner. Evelyn's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bethany Gardens Third Floor for the kindness and compassion shown to her during her long illness. Services: Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Thursday at 9:00 AM. Interment Floyd Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. Wednesday. Contributions may be made in Evelyn's memory to the Central New York Association for the Blind.
