Name: Alice O. Race Date of Death: Wednesday, June 13, 2007 Residence: Rome, NY Age: 71 Obituary: Alice O. Race, 71, of Rome, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Martin Luther Home, following a long illness. She was born on January 22, 1936, in Rome, the daughter of Michael and Petronella Zehulka Osochowski. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and attended nursing school receiving her L.P.N. diploma. She was employed by Rome DDSO, retiring due to disability in 2002. She was previously employed by the Betsy Ross Nursing Home for 21 years. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Church, the Ava Dorfman Senior Center, and was a volunteer for the Rome City Democratic Committee. Surviving is one daughter, Lisa; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Jill, and Scott, all of Rome; one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Raymond Waliszewski, Verona; three grandchildren, Erin, Daniel, and Allison; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Todd Race; and four sisters, Bertha Czerski, Lonnie Knutti, Jane Ingersoll, and Stella Meus. Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome at 10:30 AM, and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
