Obituary:William F. (Bill) Correia, 77, of 7690 Kilbourne Road, Rome, New York, died Friday, December 28, 2007 in Rome Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 16, 1930 in Taunton, Massachusetts the son of Manuel and Bertha Stanek Correia.
Bill was a graduate of Taunton Schools.
On January 25, 1951 he married Mary Parrish in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Mr. Correia was employed by the United States Post Office retiring in 1991.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served 20 years retiring in 1968. Bill served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Correia was a member of St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Henry P. Smith Post of the American Legion and the Air Force Sergeants
Assoc.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Steven Stamps, Franklin, Tennessee; Judy and James Ward, Cato, New York; Susan and Mark Schuknecht, Pompano Beach, Florida; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John and April Correia, San Antonio, Texas; Robert Correia, Winter Haven, Florida; Joseph Correia and Chrissy VanWie, Taberg; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Frances Peets, South Attleboro, Massachusetts; Florence and Donald Peets, Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Peter and Rita Correia, Derry, New Hampshire; John Correia, Dallas; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street Wed 9:00 AM and St. Leo's Church Holland Patent 10:00 AM. Interment Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia
