Obituary:Ann M. Martinez, 64, of 8225 Bielby Rd, Rome, New York, died Monday,
December 10, 2007 at Rome Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born May 20, 1943 in Point Au Mal, Newfoundland, Canada the
daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Hepditch.
Ann was a high school graduate of Newfoundland schools.
On August 27, 1966 she married Edward A. Martinez in Port Au Port,
Newfoundland.
She was employed at the Army-Air Force Exchange Service at Griffiss for
several years retiring in 2005.
Surviving are her mother of Newfoundland; two daughters and a son-in-law,
Sharon and Joseph V. Brockway , Lorri Martinez and her fiancé , John C. Brooks, all of
Rome; one sister, Theresa Carroll, Ft. McMurray, Alberta, Canada; two brothers and
sisters-in-law, David and Philomena Hepditch, Stephenville, Newfoundland; Felix and
Carol Hepditch, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; two beloved grandchildren, Patrick,
Kristine, nieces, nephews and special friend and companion, Wayne Marshall, Rome.
Ann's family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Fayez Chahfe, Dr. John
Crawford, Dr. Alicia DeTraglia, Dr. Thomas Ryan, Dr. A. Brooks Parker and 2 North
Staff at Rome Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion shown to her
during her illness.
A memorial mass of the Christian burial will be held at Transfiguration Church
Tuesday at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours.
Contributions may be made in Ann's memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome.
