He was born on July 21, 1950, in Rome, the son of Andrew and Wanda Klara Mativesko. He graduated from Rome Free Academy, the Class of 1968. He attended Mohawk Valley Community College. On September 8, 1980, he married Dawn Gilboy at St. John's Lutheran Church. Mark proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of the Henry P. Smith American Legion and Frank J. Stecko Post. Surviving his loving wife, Dawn; a son, Jason Stosal; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Joseph Tierney; a brother, Jon Mativesko; three grandchildren, Jason Jr., Cassandra, and Kayla Marie; a special niece, Sarah Beth Tierney; and two special friends, Richard Lasher, Jr., and Richard Lasher, III. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery.
