Mary L. Cook, 68, of 2801 Old State Rd., Camden, passed away January 3, 2006 at Crouse-Irving Hospital, Syracuse after a long illness.
She was born July 17, 1937 in Copenhagen, NY the daughter of Lyle and Thelma Staie Grant. Mary was educated in area schools and on August 7, 1954 she was united in marriage to Charles H. "Pete" Cook in St. John's Church, Camden. She was last employed at Mad River Upholstery and at one time worked at Harden Furniture. Mary was a member of St. John's Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving besides her husband are her mother, Thelma Flagg, Camden, 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Charles & Julie Cook, AL, John Cook, VA, Robert & Holly Cook, Taberg, William & Marie Cook, Sr., Camden, one sister and brother-in-law, Barb & Joe Denicola, Orlando, FL, 2 brothers and 2 sisters-in-law, John & Carol Grant, Camden, Lyle & Margaret Grant, Florence, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Lyle, daughter, Susan Reber and 2 granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:45 am from the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 Rte. 13, Camden and at 9:30 am from St. John's Church, Camden. Burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Camden in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 pm. Donations may be made to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Camden.
