Obituary:Leon D. Prusinowski, 78, of Rome, died Saturday, October 6, 2007, in Bethany Gardens. He was born July 5, 1929, the son of Leon and Philomena Bartlewski Prusinowski. He was a graduate of Camden High School.
Leon owned and operated a dairy farm in Taberg with his brother John for over 30 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of St. Peter's Church. He was formerly a member of St. Anne's Church in Glenmore and was an honorary member of their Holy Name Society. He was also a life-member of the Taberg Volunteer Fire Department and the Annsville Historical Society. He was also a member of the Annsville Democratic Club.
Leon's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff's of the Rome Nursing Home and Bethany Gardens for the loving care that they gave him during his illness.
Leon is survived by five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Clara Williams, Rome, Frances Williams, Plattsburgh, Mary and Kenneth Seibel, Blossvale, Theresa and Joseph Awad, Oneida, and Agnes Reber, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Lillian Masztak, Sophie Stoddard, and Helen Deeley; and four brothers, Francis, Frank, Edward and John.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30am at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, and 11am at St. Peter's Church. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Taberg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7pm.
