Thomas St., Rome, died on Monday, September 17, 2007, at his residence. He was born on February 9, 1936, in Rome, the son of Henry and Myrtle Wetzel Gurley. He graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1955. On February 9, 1980, he married Kathleen Farrier. She died in 1988. He was employed by New York State Fish Hatchery, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Rome Moose Lodge #901 and the Rome Elks Club. Frank was a loving, caring, kind person willing to go out of his way to help people. He was also a nature lover, avid birdwatcher, and cherished his cats. Frank's family would like to express their gratitude to the people at Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. for the kindness and compassion shown to him during his illness. Surviving are a step-son, Clem Farrier, Rome; a beloved companion of 17 years, Emilie Hayes, with whom he resided; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Friday, September 21, 2007, at 5:00 PM. Interment will take place at Rome Cemetery.
