Fletcher, 71, of Taberg, died July 13, 2007, at the Abraham House in Utica, with his loving wife by his side, following a long illness. He was born on November 17, 1935, in Rome, the son of John and Mary Bower Fletcher. He attended Rome schools. On November 24, 1956, he married Norma Calvani in Rome. He was employed by Revere Copper and Brass Products for 43 years, retiring in 1999. He served in the United States Army from 1958-1959. He was a member and Past President of Blossvale Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving besides his wife; are one son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Fletcher, Rome; one sister, Doris Gifune, FL; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Murphy, Lee, and Daniel and Shirley Murphy, Rome; five grandsons, Daniel, Steven and his wife, Melissa, Michael, Johnathan, and Alexander; and one great-granddaughter, Madison. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Fletcher. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Contributions may be made in John's memory to the Taberg Volunteer Fire Department or the Abraham House, 1203 Kemble St., Utica.
