Obituary of Barbara Dehimer

Barbara Dehimer, 71, of Utica, passed away on April 17, 2014, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. She was born December 11, 1942, in Rome, the daughter of Jack and Marion Castle Dehimer. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy Barb worked for several years at Broadacres Hospital in Utica. She was a diehard NBA fan and loved watching sports on television. Barb is survived by a sister, Deborah Dehimer, of Rome; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Leslie Dehimer, of Rome, Lawrence and Cathy Dehimer, of Newark, NY, and Roger and Janet Dehimer, of Boston, MA; several nieces and nephews; and her companion, Deke. She was predeceased by five brothers, Martin, Craig, Paul, Dale and John. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1PM at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. Philip Hearn officiating. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome.
