Name: Mildred I. Metarskie Date of Death: Tuesday, November 14, 2006 Residence: Rome, NY Age: 94 Obituary: Mildred Irene "Gram" Metarskie went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2006. She was 94 years old. Mildred was born in Doutyville, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1912. She married Michael Metarskie on December 14, 1929. Following his death she and her daughters moved to Rome, New York. She resided at 215 East Thomas Street with her daughter Anna Jean and son-in-law Richard Beckwith. She is survived by her sister, Thea Bird. She had five daughters, and is survived by three: Anna Jean Beckwith, Mae Nute, and Lois Rabuck. Two of her daughters are deceased - Janet Stoddard and Phyllis Metarskie. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are being made privately, no calling hours. She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband following a service at St. Paul's Reformed Church in Gowen City, Pennsylvania. In lieu of sending flowers, her family respectfully requests that friends and family make donations to Hospice. Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Hospice for all of their care and support as well as for being truly wonderful, caring people. Hospice made it possible for Mildred to stay at home with her family, surrounded by the people and things she dearly loved. Mildred was truly a gift from God. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. Her tremendous faith in her Lord was with her always. She was very deeply loved and cherished by her entire family. She will be dearly missed. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 North George Street, Rome, New York. Services: Services are in Gowen City, PA.
