Shepard, 76, of 107 Mill Street, Rome, New York died Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Rome Memorial Hospital after being stricken at home. He was born January 26, 1929 in Floyd the son of William and Nancy Avery Shepard. Mr. Shepard was educated in Holland Patent. He was employed at Barney Levitt and Son for several years and later was employed by D. & H. Blacktop. Bruce was a former member of the Stanwix Heights Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are two daughters and one son in law, Nancy and John Volpe, Rome; Pam Lyman and her fiancé Bobby Fox, Taberg; two step-daughters, Patricia and Richard Wood, Vernon Center; Sharron and William Betz, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania; one step-son, John and Sheila Davis, Whitesboro; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred and Franklin Hubbard, Rome; Mary Shorey, Rome, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two stepsons, Christopher and Ronald Davis and one brother, William. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. Interment Floyd Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 5:00P.M. to 8:00P.M.
