Name: Robert W. Burk Date of Death: Monday, July 03, 2006 Residence: Rome NY Age: 68 Obituary: Robert W. (Bob) Burk, 68, Elsie St., Rome, died July 3, 2006 after a long illness. He was born February 18, 1938, in Rome, the son of Alfred and Mary Zagurski Burk. Bob was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Humbolt College, MN. He worked at the Rome Fish Hatchery for over 25 years, retiring in 1983 due to ill health. Mr. Burk was a member of the Rome Elks Club and Rome Moose Club. Surviving are three daughters Kelly Lubeck, Rome, Ann and James Laughinghouse, Tunkhannock, PA, Kathy and Richard Cardinal, Floyd; two sons, Gary Burk, Hershey, PA, Robert and Lori Burk, Jr., Rome; two sisters, Jane and Robert Jamison, Amherst, NY, Doris Mohan, Grand Island, NY; and seven grandchildren, Rebecca Cardinal, Alyssa Lubeck, Austin and Jenna Laughinghouse; Taylor, Halle , Judi Leigh Burk, several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Bruce Melnick and two special people in his life, Judy Burk and Wendy Tyler. Bob's family would like to give a special thank you to the Betsy Ross Nursing Home "family´for all the love and care given to him over the years. The would also like to thank the Hospice staff. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St. on Thursday at 7.00 p.m. Interment Rathbunville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
