James Street, Rome, New York, died Monday, June 26, 2006 in Rome Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was born November 7, 1923 in Rome the son of Dominick and Matilda Peraino Tarbania. Mr. Tarbania was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On June 4, 1955 he married Beverly Quackenbush in Rome. John was employed by the Oneida County Highway Department for several years retiring due to disability in 1979 and was previously employed at General Cable Corporation. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving besides his wife, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Ronald Jackson, Rome; LaSandria and James Martino, Camden; two sons, Paul Tarbania, Utica; John Tarbania, Jr., Rome; one brother, Samuel Tarbania, Rome; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Anna D'Amore, Lucy Tagliaferri, Beatrice DeCarolis, four brothers, Lawrence, Anthony, Philip, Nicholas Tarbania and a grandson. Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Thursday 10:30A.M. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
