Name: Dolores Gomez Date of Death: Wednesday, June 22, 2005 Residence: New Hartford NY Age: 98 Obituary:Dolores Gomez, 98, formerly of Colonial II Apartments, Rome, died June 22, 2005 at the Sitrin Health Care Center, New Hartford. She was born December 10, 1906 in the village of Lugo, in the Spanish province of Galicia. She was educated in Spain. On December 5, 1929 Dolores married Victor Gomez in Havana, Cuba. She came to this country in 1929 and lived in Niagara Falls, New York from 1929 until 1959 when she and her husband retired and moved to Clearwater, Florida. After her husband died in 1969, she moved to Rome. She completed the educational requirements and became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1955. Surviving are two grandsons, Martin and Kathy Gomez, Lisbon, CT, Joseph and Dawn Gomez, Acton, MA; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Victor E. Gomez, in 1987. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment in the Rome Cemetery. Arrangements by the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N.
