Obituary:Chester J. Kroviak, 86, formerly of Rome Oriskany Road, Rome, New York, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 in Stonehedge Nursing Home after a long illness.
He was born June 26, 1919 in Throop, Pennsylvania the son of John and Mary Furtak Kroviak.
Chester was a graduate of Throop High School.
On June 21, 1956 he married Mary Suplita in Rome.
He was employed at Rome Cable Corporation for thirty-six years retiring in 1981.
Chester was a member of Transfiguration Church, a life member of the Rome Polish Home, Rome Bowling Association and the National Officers of the 700 Bowling Clubs of America. He also was a Charter Member of the Rome Bowling Hall of Fame.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Debra Kroviak, Ava; one brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Julia Kroviak, Rome, three grandchildren, Heidi, David and Jodi and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Tyler. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary , one sister, Regina Polosky and a brother, Edward Kroviak.
Funeral will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street Monday 10:30A.M. and Transfiguration Church 11:00A.M. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 2:00P.M. to 5:00P.M. Sunday.
Contributions may be made in Chester's memory to Transfiguration Church Memorial Fund.
