Arbes, 84, of Taberg, passed away on Monday, January 05, 2009, at his nephew's home after a long illness. He was born on August 5, 1924, in New York City, New York, the son of John and Helen Mador Arbes. He was a graduate of Camden Central High School. Henry was employed by the Spargo Wire Co., for several years, retiring in 1990. He previously worked for General Cable and Griffiss Air Force Base. Mr. Arbes proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Bruce Arbes and his wife, Stella. Henry was predeceased by three brothers, Frank J. Malley, William Arbes, and John F. Arbes; and a step-sister, Mary Wijotzkey. Henry's family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Brian Alessi and Dr. Kesava Potluri for their kindness and compassion shown to him. Services: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, at 11:00 AM where the Rev. Robert Kelly will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Taberg, in the spring. Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
